Dr Sonali Gnanenthiran

Dr Sonali Gnanenthiran is a general cardiologist who graduated medicine from the University of New South Wales with First Class Honours and subsequently undertook a PhD with the University of Sydney. She completed cardiology training at Concord Hospital. She is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and also Cardiac Society Australia New Zealand and works as a Cardiologist at Sydney Adventist and Canterbury Hospitals. Her clinical and research interests include cardiovascular health in older populations, cardiovascular risk assessment, high blood pressure, heart failure, and cardiac imaging including echocardiography. She has a broad range of research interests ranging from clinical trials to platelet basic science. 

Dr Gnanenthiran has been a recipient of multiple research scholarships from the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia, Heart Foundation and Sydney Local Health District. She has also published research articles in peer-reviewed journals, and has presented at various national and international conferences. Of note, she is a recipient of the John Chalmers Fellowship at The George Institute of Global Health and was also awarded ‘Best Poster Presentation’ at the European Society of Cardiology Scientific Meeting 2018.
