Dr George Lau
Dr George Lau is an interventional cardiologist and general physician at Sydney Adventist Hospital and Northern Beaches Hospital. He trained in cardiology at Concord Hospital before completing a PhD in cardiac CT and ultrasound imaging at the University of Sydney and a 2 year post-doctoral interventional fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University (Boston, USA). He is a fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand.
His clinical expertise includes - general cardiology, stress echocardiography, interventional cardiology (angiography and coronary stunting), left atrial appendage occlusion insertion, PFO closure devices, TAVI.
His research interests include cardiac CT, vascular remodeling and vascular flow modeling.
He was previously the head of general medicine at Manly Hospital and Northen Beaches Hospital and is committed to improving health care to the residents of Sydney’s North Shore and the Northern Beaches.
